Let's Take Baby Down to the River!

The same people that expect the Federal government to assume responsibility for every aspect of their well-being get their picture on the front page 'Hurricane Ike' story on MSNBC.com. This should be the included caption: 'Hey it's a hurricane, let's take baby down to the river!'

This photo is just as confusing to me as people that hang out at bridge embankments during flash floods. Why the hell would you be handling your kid down by the storm surge?!

Keep the affected folks in your thoughts, and let's hope they have more common sense than this MSNBC poster child!

A Brown Ribbon for George Carlin...

I was saddened when I awoke to news of the passing of hero, legend, and all-around wise-ass George Carlin. It only seemed proper to put this in with my 'rants' and to proudly post my brown ribbon...

George Carlin explains the Brown Ribbon...

“The whole problem with this idea of obscenity and indecency, and all of these things — bad language and whatever — it’s all caused by one basic thing, and that is: religious superstition,” Carlin told the AP in a 2004 interview. “There’s an idea that the human body is somehow evil and bad and there are parts of it that are especially evil and bad, and we should be ashamed. Fear, guilt and shame are built into the attitude toward sex and the body. ... It’s reflected in these prohibitions and these taboos that we have.” -MSNBC.com

Send Them a Postcard: Let Old Glory Fly!

Like many, I am truly stunned to hear reports about a US military veteran being threatened by legal action by his home owners association for flying an appropriately displayed United States flag. My resentment and disbelieve over the actions of this disrespectful and callous organization of thugs is beyond measurement. Please view the links below and act accordingly:

Houston, We Have A Problem!

The sole toilet system on the international space station has broken leaving the astronaut crew feeling like a kid trapped in the family station-wagon and desperately waiting for dad to find a rest-stop. Big Gulp™ anyone?! The toilet remains partially functional, and the astronauts have managed to rig up a system using bags to capture waste materials. 'The possibility of an embarrassing international zero-gravity poo incident have been avoided for now' stated an unnamed NASA official. The Russian made toilet has broken several times before, but this time it appears to have pooped-out for good! Until a repair can be made or a replacement can be delivered the astronaut team will be left high and dry... well maybe not so dry. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Let's hope they don't try to shoot it out the airlock like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens.
This reader is left wondering: Where is the ingenuity that saved the crew of the stranded Apollo 13 ,which has since been dubbed a 'successful failure'. How is it a bunch of guys can make a life-saving air filter out of nearly nothing but space junk, yet we can't get a simple toilet repair? Let me get this straight.. all that money and engineering and they have one toilet... and now they're using bags? Please someone tell me that when we decide to go back to the moon, we'll at least strap a backup toilet or design a rocket Johnny Blue. Sending people into space with a million dollar recycled MIR toilet just doesn't cut-it.

I Know Where You Can Park That Hybrid!

Hey it's so awesome that all these people are rushing out to pay up to $23,770 for a Toyota Prius and comparable 'hybrids' to save fuel when the 1991 GEO Metro was getting similar mileage while listing at about 9k! Thanks to CNN's Mallory Simon for pointing out this scam to the general misinformed public. Apparently the Metro sub-compact is making a comeback in the used market, and there's no doubt why.

The sad thing is all the people who, after being brainwashed by Al Gore, rushed out to save the world with their pricey hybrids. Guess you shoulda looked 'old school' first! So what exactly is the benefit of hybrids? emissions alone? Can't we just mod better emissions on the old subcompacts? With the big oiltards screwing us over for insane profits I'm starting to wonder where that old 97 honda civic hatchback went to?

PS: I'm guessing they didn't run the mileage on this metro:

Big OilTards Blackmail, Subvert American Democracy.

Big oil execs are under the gun in 2 days of heated Senate Judiciary Hearings. At one point Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill. questioned them "You have to sense what you're doing to us - we're on the precipice here, about to fall into recession... Does it trouble any one of you - the costs you're imposing on families, on small businesses, on truckers?" The head Oiltards were undaunted by the blunt questioning and instead deferred blame to OPEC for controlling output for self-benefit. They were also however very quick to revive the ideas of drilling in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge and other protected national treasures. "The place to start the free market is in our own country. [The drilling ban] sets the stage for OPEC to do what we are doing in our own country, and that is effectively limiting supplies."
The execs claim that high crude costs and low output is determining the high costs of fuel at the pumps despite the fact that they have invested minimally, amidst record profits, to increase refining capability. "You know how much cash you have on hand compared to capital investment" Durban reminded the forgetful mob of corrupt neo-capitalists.

It's awfully funny that after three or four failed attempts to gain access to protected areas for oil that we're now seeing congressional hearings about record prices, economic downfall, and access to protected areas. Apparently these guys just don't get it: Their request for access to protected areas was denied through a legitimate democratic process. Additionally, the Big Oiltard's claim that they have no ties to skyrocketing prices domestically is a joke. Why is it that just across the border in Mexico, fuel prices are nearly half the price that they are here? Does Mexico have better refining capability? Better infrastructure? Does Mexico pay less for imported crude? Or is this about capacity to pay? Let's face it Americans are rich (by world standards) and generally willing to pay. The problem is that these crooks have taken capitalism too far. We've moved from a symbiotic relationship with oil companies to a relationship that is now parasitic. They are harming the host... the middle class. (If you haven't been keeping up lately: The middle class pays the majority of taxes and is widely regarded as the heartbeat of the American economy.

Their attempt to leverage economic health with their goals of increased domestic access is harmful and possibly treasonous. Who do they think they are to try to override the congress and the American democratic process with this 'economic health for domestic access' blackmail? The decision has been made and now these companies collude to override the will of the people. Everyone should be alarmed and demand action from congress!

Good Creepy vs Bad Creepy...

When it came to scary parts, actor Vincent Price was everybody's daddy. In Josef Fritzl's house he was everybody's daddy too. Literally.

Same Singer.. Different Tune...

Proving that the masses truly are disengaged, Rev. Jeremiah Wright pulls a political 'switcharoo' and no-one seemed to care. Naturally, the spastic national media coverage completely missed the story again. The retired (pronounced retard)reverend who once stated "Jesus said, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you. Those are biblical principles..." and that "America's chickens are coming home to roost" notably changed his tune today. He has now decided that we should all work to heal and eliminate "any teaching of superiority, inferiority, hatred or prejudice" and that we are all "one of God's children ... no better, no worse."
The ridiculously hypocritical reverend then produced an intelligence insulting excuse/whining defense of his moronic anti-American hate speech. He claimed that his comments were taken out of context and that in context to black religious tradition his comments were reasonable. My bad! I was just an out of touch "european-american" when I grew up not noticing that the black America that the good reverend speaks for secretly engages in self-hating, America bashing behavior. His eloquent and somewhat entertaining attempt to rally a pseudo community behind his crappy choice to share his idiocy in past public appearances defies common sense. Instead of showing some responsibility for his poor choice of words and apologizing for the hate speech, he's trying to hide behind a fictitious and microscopic community that, if it does exist, is as petty and insignificant as his initial commentary. Reverend, I know Jesus. Jesus had balls and stepped up and was responsible for what he started. You are a hypocrite and a loudmouth. When you spew hate-speech about your country the target is raceless. We are all Americans here... unfortunately even you.
It's laughable that the Reverend also attempts to hide behind the old 'you just don't understand us' excuse. Many if not most younger people in our country have learned from the tired, divisive, & oppressive attitudes of the civil rights era. So approaching a younger 'European-American' culture that you don't 'get' with your predisposition and antiquated expectations is patently hypocritical as well. BTW, I prefer being called a 'White American.' My family/blood connections to Europe were long.. long ago, and have little to no bearing on my life today. So welcome.. welcome to the 21st century Reverend Dumbass. Now please sit down and shut up! Stop clouding an important race with capable candidates with your ego and stupidity.

Goodbye MSNBC, Hello CNN...

Well the time has come for me to explain myself. I have removed all RSS links for BSNBC (Yes I'm well aware of the mistake), and replaced them with CNN. The reasoning behind this decision is one that started shortly before the hypocrisy that was 'the Imus in the Morning Debacle' and built up in the aftermath. Prior to the Imus thing MSNBC had undergone some management changes that put prettyboy Dan Abrams large and in charge. And the gutlessness and accountability levels in the network's coverage have gone separate directions since.
Starting with the Imus ordeal, which I could go on about endlessly
... Oh irony of all ironies!!! Here's Joe 'holier than thou' Scarborough and David Gregory bashing Imus after appearing on his show time after time and engaging in the childish, humorous and entertaining routine. Et tu MSNBC? The on air personalities scattered like bugs out from under an overturned rock revealing their hypocracy, and eat your own - CYA mentality. Where'd you scurry off to Tim Russert?
The facts are, as I see them, simple: Imus is an idiot not a racist. He'll even admit to that. He's also a humorous idiot. He also appologized profusely. A 6 month suspension would have been both appropriate and smart. Instead pipsqueak and the MSNBC admin decided that they would tear a hole in the entire institution and break up their structure and reliability for a firing. I hardly think that the punishment fit the crime considering how fast MSNBC was willing to book Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson after the incient. Consider some of the controversial comments that they've made! I personally respect Al and love to see him speak, yet he has said things that I find equally as
reprehensible as the Imus comments. Jackson fits that description as well.
Then there's the coverage of the Clinton campaign (whom I do not politically support), and the arguments between her camp and MSNBC, which were allowed to leak into coverage and headline slant. It was obvious to anyone with a brain that the MSNBC coverage changed once they were challenged by the Clintons. What a joke.
I've suffered enough of this mockery of reporting and credibility. So like everyone else who once was a huge fan, I've left MSNBC, and encourage others to do so as well. The ratings and advertising market is the only way the viewer can speak and MANY of us have spoken. It's a shame that I will have to miss out on such gems as Chris Mathews and the dissent of Keith Olberman but, MSNBC you are todays and tomorrow's WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD!

CNN, has always been a guilty pleasure and I always felt like I was cheating when I flipped the channel. But their coverage is fair, they even have some old credible MSNBC faces like Cambell Brown! They have seriously ramped up their political coverage and I would argue that it is the best in complexity, presentation, and fairness on cable news. With that said.. G
oodbye BSNBC and hello...

All I'm saying is..

Are we REALLY suprised when they keep coming back?!?

Get Yo Cheney On!

Fly fishing? Naked Lady? Whatever! Now that it's about 70 degrees & sunny out for the first time this year all I'm saying is damn you Dick! You don't have to rub it in that some of us have 'day jobs' that don't include either fly fishing or naked ladies.
Is that really a naked woman in Dick Cheney's sunglasses?
